GOOGLE PIXEL 3 XL

Here’s Google’s larger flagship in pamphlet view.

The first agenda will mostly fall to Google’s excellent HDR+ algorithm and perfectly-tuned software as Google has retained the single rear camera of its predecessor. Interestingly Google put a dual camera on the front of the Pixel  3 XL, which enables wide and regular selfies.

On the software side, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are the ubiquitous Android machines - made by Google with promised updates for at least three years. The moment you grab the Pixel 3 smartphones, you have the best and latest of Android in your hands.

Android 9 Pie on the new pair of Pixels runs like a dream and is very gesture focused. Those gestures require some getting used to but are the way going forward.

But this year Google added some niceties to the Pixel 3 and 3 XL to better equip them against 2018 competition, like wireless charging, new Pink paint job a new tall-aspect display for the smaller phone and sadly, a notch for the larger one.

So let’s jump in and see about that new hardware.

APPLE IPHONE XS MAX REVIEW

this year Apple is righting this wrong with the iPhone XS Max.

We have to admit we used all of our jokes on the iPhone XS review. But coming up with the iPhone XS Max name is probably the biggest joke anyway. Two letters, but one is a Roman numeral - we learned to deal with that. But the Max moniker after the XS name, well, this is funny everywhere on the globe.

The iPhone XS didn't seem to pack enough punch to make a reasonable iPhone user upgrade, but the Max is an entirely different story. If you wanted an X with a bigger screen you've probably pre-ordered and you have a tracking number in your mailbox already.

Nobody doubted that a bigger iPhone would have costed more. But the iPhone XS Max is not just the most expensive iPhone yet. It's the most expensive smartphone there is right now. And despite what we'd expect, this didn't turn down the fans, quite the opposite - the iPhone XS Max is massively outselling the XS.

Well, we have the Apple iPhone XS Max in our office, so let's see what the fuss is all about, shall we?

The iPhone XS Max is a wish come true for all of you who wanted an X Plus. The Max has a massive 6.5" bezel-less OLED display, the fastest chipset on the planet, an improved dual-camera, louder speakers, and the largest battery the iPhones have seen to date.

APPLE IPHONE XS

The best iPhone ever made if anyone had doubts that Apple will make a worse device this year. It's the fastest, the prettiest, the sturdiest, the most luxurious, the most skilled

the S has always meant Speed in Apple's universe, and the iPhone XS is the bearer of the next generation Apple chip - the A12 Bionic. It's the first (available) system-on-chip made by the high-tech

7nm manufacturing process, offers a 15% faster processor and 50% faster graphics. But the highlight of the A12 is the second-gen NPU that can do 5 trillion operations per second, a massive improvement for the machine-learning scene.Apple also made some significant improvements with the main camera - there is a new sensor with bigger pixels, a new signal processor, Smart HDR, adjustable bokeh post-shooting, and stereo audio in videos! Wow! Okay, we may be going overboard with this one, but what we mean is that it's good to see Apple catch up with them Pixels.

In addition to the new A12 chip and new camera, the iPhone XS also has digital video stabilization for the front camera, better stereo speakers, faster LTE, dual-SIM, better water resistance, and tougher glass panels.

What's still the same - design and looks, the notched OLED screen, the telephoto camera, Face ID, battery capacity, and while the camera

department has some new tricks, as far as numbers are concerned - it's still the same

OPPO FIND X

It was the Half-Life 3 of smartphones until it became Duke Nukem Forever. Almost five years in the making, always elusive and never really official, but now it's out. Yes, it's the Oppo Find X.

The expectations went through the roof in time and we could understand why Oppo just won't make another Find - it was hard to keep up with the hype. But no, the Find X did not only live up to all that hype but exceeded all expectations.

The X combines the power of the Finds and the innovative nature of the N series. That's how the Oppo Find X was born and its curved, bezel-less, cutout-free AMOLED screen is one of the most impressive things in mobile product design you'll see these days. And then it tops it off with the motorized slide-out structure which houses the front and back cameras and other interesting bits and pieces.
